Happy New Year

Welcome to 2016! I’m excited to be spending some of my day here in my scrapbook studio working on some cards. This is one blessed crafter! I have a couple of cards for you today. 🙂

The first is very similar to a card I made a few months ago. It uses the My Favorite Things Top Dog stamp set and the new Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes from the January card kit. 

 
I used my copic markers to color the dogs and used some Simon Says Stamp Blue Jay ink to color the top of the scene. 

My next card is for the ColorQ challenge for this week. This is my first time to participate. The challenge this week is:

I love Costal Cabana and absolutely dreaded the day when it retired. I have several things in the stash that are this color, so I was excited to play along this time. The inspiration piece is pretty festive, but I honestly don’t do much to celebrate the new year, so I thought what about just a fun, sparkly thank you card? 

  
I again used my copic markers to color in the cat, fish, and bowl. 

  

This little kitty made me think of my stray cat, (although I guess she isn’t stray anymore) Shadow. She has such pretty grey coloring. 

  I got a few pictures of her a few weeks ago and she was feeling playful and actually didn’t run when I held my phone up for a few minutes. We are still working on accepting touch, but she’s making a lot of progress. (This chair sits on my back porch right next to my back door.)
